Arts & Lectures, the major presenting program of the University of California Santa Barbara, invites applications for the position of Senior Director of Development.
About the Position
This senior position provides a critical leadership role in meeting annual fundraising goals of $3M+ for the Arts & Lectures program. This position is tasked with identifying, cultivating and stewarding donors, and manages the A&L Development team including a Major Gifts Officer, Membership Manager, Stewardship/VIP Concierge, and Development Associate. The ideal candidate will be adept at dealing with donors, including local and national foundations, corporate decision-makers and individual patrons, strategic planning and moves management defining strategic initiatives. The position requires a strong team player, a self-starter, organized and goal-oriented, and passionate about the arts and ideas. Given Arts & Lectures’ position as a leading cultural institution in the region, the Senior Director of Development will connect with civic leaders and key philanthropists, as well as University leadership.
The Senior Director of Development is a key member of the A&L senior management team as well as the University’s Development team.

Arts & Lectures is the largest presenting organization between Los Angeles and San Francisco, a program that features more than 150 events and programs every year. Arts & Lectures recently completed a successful 5-year fundraising campaign, raising $30 million to exce...ed our initial goal of $20 million, and in Spring 2018 a highly successful fundraising event demonstrated once again the high profile of Arts & Lectures within the philanthropic community, as well as the strength and stability of the organization.
