The Executive Director position is for the Maple Leaf Performing Arts Center, a venue under construction that will seat 2000 guests and is located in Nashville, Indiana, about one hour south of Indianapolis. Brown County has been a popular tourist destination for many decades and, in addition to its natural beauty, has been trademarked the "art colony of the midwest". Although a broad range of performance types is expected, well-known touring musical groups and other performances will be booked by the Executive Director and other booking agencies under contract.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Strategy and operational implementation overseeing all aspects of venue operations
Planning and programming a compelling schedule of performance and community events
Relationship development strategies to open new performance programming opportunities
Financial management to yield a positive financial result on an annual basis
Philanthropy development to support long term giving for capital improvements
Marketing, communications, and promotion activities to reach targeted audiences
Site and infrastructure development centered around a long-term site plan
Education and enrichment program development consistent with the MLPAC's mission
Personnel oversight and management of staff, vendors, and contractors.
The candidate should possess a balance of education and training in a relevant field plus work experience in a job similar to this position adequate to demonstrate an ability to perform successfully. Competencies necessary for success include the following:

The Maple Leaf Performing Arts Center (MLPAC) is a 2000-seat venue currently under construction in Central Indiana one hour south of Indianapolis in Brown County, a popular tourist destination with a long history in many forms of art. The MLPAC was created by the MLPAC Management Group, LLC, a board of seven members to whom the Executive Director will report. The physical building and property will be owned by the county so a close working relationship with government entities is necessary.
