The Community Engagement Manager will work directly with both the Artistic Director and Artistic Associate of OZ Arts to expand and enhance the organization’s mission through programs that foster and engage diverse audiences.
From creating curriculum guides for the Artistic Program in schools, to maintaining and strengthening partnerships with colleague institutions, the candidate must possess a desire and willingness to think outside the box, conjure creative programs where they are needed in the community and align living artists from all creative disciplines with the growing community of Nashville.
Facilitate all outreach initiatives and educational programs under the supervision of the Artistic Director and in collaboration with both the Marketing and Development departments to help promote, subsidize and expand the reach of the programs presented by OZ Arts ?
Work closely with MNPS, private, charter and home schools to provide unique opportunities for both curriculum-based and independent studies associated with the curatorial program at OZ Arts, including curriculum guide creation for appropriate TN state academic standards and STEAM integration ?
Maintain and grow established programs, such as OZ School Days, to serve a greater population with a wide variety of teaching artists, in partnership with Metro Parks Department
Develop burgeoning Youth Corps program with partner schools for student interns to attain deeper understanding of the inner-workings of an arts institution, as well as to engage directly with visiting and local artists presenting their work with OZ Arts
Facilitate the creation of new programs with the Artistic Director that engage the community in a variety of ways, including family programs, senior programs and programs for our diverse citizenry
Research individuals, community groups, organizations/ establishments, social media platforms, etc. to cultivate as audience members for specific programming. Then, maintain that communication in order to sustain growth & diversity of audience.
Maintain an active membership in arts or education-related associations, and stay up to date on national trends. ?
Develop and maintain relationships in the community to further the mission of OZ Arts Nashville ?
Promote good working relationships within OZ Arts.
Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with expectation to work some nights and weekends
A bachelor’s degree (a master’s degree is preferable) in education, arts education or other relevant areas of study ?
A minimum of two years related experience working in arts organizations, as an arts educator, or in an educational institution with arts-related responsibilities ?
Appropriate contacts in the education and arts communities ?
The ability to handle multiple programs and responsibilities, motivating and directing programs and outreach opportunities ?
Excellent communication skills ?
Excellent creative writing skills ?
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills ?
A can-do attitude, with energy and enthusiasm to be part of a small team that regularly requires attendance & participation within office hours as well as in evenings and on weekends?
Additional Salary Information: OZ Arts will negotiate a full-time salary commensurate with experience and capacity. PTO plan and benefits to be discussed with candidates at time of interview

OZ Arts Nashville is a 501c3 non-profit, contemporary performing and visual arts center housed in the former CAO cigar headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.
