Frostburg State University, Department of Student & Community Involvement, seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Production Services Coordinator position for the Cultural Events Series program. Salary commensurate with qualifications and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
The FSU Cultural Events Series (CES) is Western Maryland’s largest presenting program with a focus on live performance, educational outreach, and experiential learning. The CES annual performing arts series runs September through May, and includes professional performances from prominent national and international artists in genres of music, theatre, and dance. Each year, CES performances and supporting educational events reach thousands of local residents, helping to sustain a vibrant arts presence in Western Maryland and the surrounding tri-state region.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Associate Director of the Cultural Events Series, the Production Services Coordinator will plan and implement all production operations and functions for the FSU Cultural Events Series. Responsibilities range from performance pre-production planning and preparation, to performance day needs, and post-performance production needs, based on performance venue availabilities and production needs. Duties include recruitment, training, and supervision of a student production team and day-of-show student crew; contract rider negotiations; artist hospitality; front of house; security; merchandising; and serving as liaison between University departments and community collaborators. Also assist with coordination and implementation of CES educational outreach activities. In addition, coordinate concert productions and assist with the production of other major Student & Community Involvement events. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in music, theatre, arts events management, technical production, or related area with a minimum of one year of full-time work experience in event production or related field. Experience reflecting strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of experience working in event production. Understanding of basic technical needs of event production, contract rider interpretation and implementation. Experience working with students in a higher education setting.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
