Reporting to the Board of Directors and in partnership with the operations and marketing departments, the Executive Director will spearhead and be responsible for all development efforts for this arts focused entity in the Tampa Bay Region. The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership and hands on management to meet fundraising goals through Individual, Foundation, Corporate, and Government giving.
Nature and Scope of Position:
Collaborate on annual Executive Plan with Management and Board Committee.
Develop annual budget and strategic fundraising plan.
Manage the day-to-day operations of fundraising projects, setting fundraising goals and tracking progress.
Identifying prospects, cultivate relationships with donors and solicit corporate sponsorship and major gifts from individual donors and foundations.
Prepare proposals for corporations to secure sponsorship support.
Develop process to cultivate and increase gifts.
Develop personalized plans for top donors with giving capacity for significant new gifts.
Seek out and write grant proposals.
Maintain and update Patron Manager Database. Track donor interactions.
Process donations and acknowledgements and make pledge reminders.
Conduct Patron and Donor Research.
Maintain the development’s department ledger and reconcile with finance monthly.
Maintain donor recognition information for publication and website.
Steward donors’ efforts by fulfilling donor benefits, responding promptly to donor inquiries, and serving as Lead Concierge.
Coordinate and conduct quarterly board meetings with executives and board members.
Coordinate timely dissemination of promotional and outreach materials to potential donors.
Oversee appropriate donor gift follow-up, including acknowledgement, receipts, and fulfillment of donor requests.
Prepare regular and/or special reports as directed.
Bachelor’s degree and 3 plus years of development leadership experience in a nonprofit setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed social intelligence with a strong orientation to interpersonal relationships and significant attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects in a busy office environment.
Directed and self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and work with a variety of personalities.
Experience and/or love of the Arts.
Familiar and networked within the Tampa Bay Community preferred.
