Young Concert Artists, Inc., a non-profit organization which has discovered and launched the careers of exceptional classical musicians for 57 years, seeks to fill the full-time position of Operations Manager. The organization’s activities include presenting the Young Concert Artists Series in New York and Washington, D.C., and management of YCA artists.
The Operations Manager oversees all logistical planning involved with all YCA booked and series engagements, working closely with the Director and all members of the YCA team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Schedule artists’ domestic and/or international travel to all YCA concert engagements
Coordinate rehearsal schedules, residency schedules, accommodations, local transportation, hospitality, and ancillary social events for all artists engagements
Obtain working (O-1, O-2, P-1) visas for international YCA artists coming to the US to perform
Obtain work permits/tourist visas for YCA artists performing outside the United States.
Work with artists and Young Concert Artists Director to determine content of recital programs performed, and distribute program information to all presenters.
Prepare detailed itineraries for all engagements.
Coordinate travel, rehearsal, and housing for artists with YCA Board members or sponsors for the YCA Series in New York and Washington, D.C.
Be available 24/7 to handle YCA artist travel emergencies
Track travel expenses for YCA artists and work with YCA Financial Associate to bill artists and/or presenters accordingly.
Book domestic and international business travel for Young Concert Artists’ Director
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance; health and transit flexible spending accounts; participation in 403b retirement plan; paid vacation; summer Fridays; and office closure between December 24 and January 2.
- Strong sense of initiative, written and verbal communication skills - Detail-oriented and organized in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both independently and with others - Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Classical music background required - Bachelor’s degree - Minimum of two years’ experience in logistical planning for music, cultural, or nonprofit organizations
