Young Concert Artists, a unique non-profit organization founded in 1961 dedicated to discovering and launching the careers of extraordinary classical musicians, seeks a detail-oriented, organized, people-oriented assistant to the development department.
Responsibilities include processing and acknowledging contributions; maintaining donor records and donor listings; guest list management for over 30 concerts, events, fundraisers, and board meetings in New York and Washington, D.C. annually; work on Benefit evenings with live and silent auctions; and coordination of numerous mailings including the Young Concert Artists Series brochure, holiday appeal, fiscal year end appeal, and concert, reception, Gala, and special event invitations; attending concerts and special events.
The development assistant is part of a team of three charged with raising $2 million annually. Reporting to the two Development Managers, the development assistant also works closely with the founding Director of YCA, Susan Wadsworth, and Executive Director, Mark Hayman, and frequently interacts with Board members, donors, and VIPs, thus requiring poise and affability.
Requirements -Bachelor’s degree -superb attention to detail -1 to 2 years of professional experience, preferably in a non-profit organization -proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher -ability to master our specialized fundraising software and manage multiple projects at once -interest in classical music -ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
