Manages operation of the Rialto Theater Center by developing and administering policies and procedures consistent with the mission and operational goals established for the facility.
The salary range for this position is $55,100 - $85,300 per year with a hiring range of $55,100- $70,200,depending on qualifications and experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Schedule all rentals of the theater. Maintain and update the Rialto Theater Schedule of Events calendar.
Research, contact and book artists for Rialto Theater sponsored performances, Rialto sponsored performances and events in the Devereaux Room, and the Foote Lagoon Summer Concert series. Negotiate and execute contracts, coordinate arrangements for technical/transportation/hospitality requirements and provide information for marketing.
Work with the Marketing Coordinator to develop marketing, public relations and advertising strategies, including ongoing assessment of the success or failure of the implemented plans.
Prepare short-term plans, long-range plans and the Rialto Theater Center annual budget based on the goals and objectives of City Council, City management and the Director of Cultural Services.
Provide supervision, general direction and regular reviews for staff under direct supervision.
Provide problem-solving assistance to employees along with motivation and training. Assign and review work, manage hiring, termination, and disciplinary issues for Rialto Theater Center staff.
Emphasize and encourage staff commitment to customer service, teamwork and communications.
Evaluate the results of overall operations and service levels and provide monthly reports to the Cultural Services Director.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with local, regional and national performing arts organizations.
Coordinate and schedule front-of-house and event management duties with staff and volunteers. House and event management as needed.
Raise funds for programming and equipment through grant writing, sponsorships and donations.
Serve as Rialto Theater Center liaison to the Cultural Services Board and the Backstage Rialto non-profit support organization. .

Ability to demonstrate a high degree of ethics, integrity and discretion. Must be available to work a varied schedule including night and weekend events. Computer skills, accounting and math skills. Ability to accurately follow both written and oral instructions for procedural and setup information. Ability to use sound judgment in customer conflict resolution and problem solving, seeking supervisor assistance when needed.

Working Environment and Required Background Checks:
Work is generally performed in an office environment that may require sitting for extended periods of time, with some standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and stooping. Ability to travel to various facilities. Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in arts administration, business administration, communications, marketing or other related field required. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Arts facility management required. Experience with various word processing spreadsheet software programs required. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
